Fr. Mathew Minisare Baptist comes from the Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio in the Republic of South Sudan in Africa.

He grew up in a small village border town called Source Yubu, just three miles away from the Country of Central Africa Republic. After his primary education, he joined the Minor Seminary of his home diocese in 1984. He moved on successfully through the various stages of his Minor Seminary formation. He passed secondary education and was admitted to study Philosophy in Juba, South Sudan. He eventually moved to Khartoum-Sudan, where he
completed his theological training and was ordained as a Catholic priest for the Diocese of Tombura-Yambio on April 20th 1997.

After his ordination, he worked as an assistant priest of the Port-Sudan parish in Northern Sudan in Red Sea State. In 2000, he was called back to his home diocese. Consequently, he was sent in the same year to Nairobi-Kenya as liaison officer of his home diocese, a position that he maintained until 2009 when he was appointed as a parish priest of Mupoi, which is one of the oldest parishes of Tombura-Yambio Diocese.

Fr. Mathew Minisare was sent to Rome for further study, where he graduated with a pastoral and spiritual theology degree. He hopes to complete his doctoral studies in Sacred Theology (Spirituality) at the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (The Angelicum) in Rome.

In October 2023, his Bishop, the Rt. Rev Barani Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala permitted him to work in the Diocese of Lancaster in the United Kingdom for three years.

Fr. Mathew humbly takes this new responsibility by the grace of the Lord, and he is ready to work with the Parish Priest of the Cathedral and in full cooperation and obedience with Bishop Paul, the Bishop of Lancaster Diocese, and in maximum collaboration with the entire Christian community of the Cathedral Parish of St. Peter.
