Mission Statement >>>

The Cathedral Catholic Primary School is situated in the heart of Lancaster (Balmoral Road) next to the historic Lancaster Cathedral, which the school shares close links with. The school is vibrant, welcoming and the winner of Primary School of the year 2018-2019

The school has 204 children on role and share a common goal of enriching themselves and the local community. We have a diverse community which we are very proud of, which is under-pinned by our Catholic ethos.

Being diverse in nature has also helped in securing the only Primary School to achieve the “School of sanctuary” status. It is a school that helps its students, staff and wider community understand what it means to be seeking sanctuary and to extend a welcome to everyone as equal, valued members of the school community. It is a school that is proud to be a place of safety and inclusion for all.

The diverse nature of our Community and the community that the school serves has produced some fantastic cross business/community synergies.

This in turn has fed through the school and parents have become more actively involved and engaged  resulting in a dynamic wrap around provision, which includes singing, sewing, dancing sport and craft clubs supported by the wider community. With coffee and cake mornings, Eco club, weekly newsletters and the formation and energy of a community wide PTA. They have worked really hard to include all parents and the wider community resulting in them raising in excess of £14000 last year.

Our recent KS2 results have been just short of outstanding and are arguably the best of any local primary school in the surrounding area.

Visitors to the school always comment on the warmth and family feeling that the school has and with our new uniform how very smart the children are.
