Traditional Passover Meal, Monday 26 March (6:30pm) in the Cathedral Social Centre This year as part of our preparations for Holy Week and Easter, our parish will host a traditional Passover meal. Known in Hebrew as the 'Seder', this ritual commemorates the liberation of the Israelites from Egypt. For Christians, it calls to mind the Last Supper and prefigures the Eucharist with its blessings over bread and wine. The Seder involves a meal of roast lamb, green vegetables, herbs and unleavened bread. Ancient prayers and blessings are offered alongside the retelling of part of the Book of Exodus. The Seder is above all a family celebration and I encourage parishioners of all ages to come along. Tickets for this event include dinner and dessert as well as a £5 donation to support a Christian family in Iraq or Syria for a whole day. We'll do this through Aid to the Church in Need, and I very much hope that you will join us. Tickets are: £10 full price; £7.50 concessions; £5 children; £25 family (2 adults plus 2 or more children). Please bring your own wine or fruit juice. There will be a vegetarian option available. Places are limited, so please book your place early.
