Ninth Bishop of Lancaster

Bishop Paul Swarbrick
Fr Bob Halshaw

Please pray for the repose of the soul of Father Robert Timothy Halshaw, who died on 2nd June 2024. May  he rest in peace. 
Bob was born in Preston on 25th August 1962 to parents John and Monica. He attended St Augustine’s  Primary School and then St. John Fisher School in Preston for one year of Secondary School.  He spent his  seminary years at St Michael’s College, Underley Hall and St. Joseph’s Junior Seminary, Upholland. In 1980  he went to Ushaw College and was ordained to the Priesthood on 30th August 1986 at St Peter’s Cathedral,  Lancaster. 
Fr. Bob was a Knight of the Equestrian Order of The Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem. 

Our thoughts and prayers are with Fr Bob’s brother, Tony and also with his close friends. We are thankful  to Carlisle Hospital Coronary Care Unit for their care of Fr Bob during his recent ill-heath. 
Requiem Mass will be celebrated at St Peter’s Cathedral, Lancaster LA1 3BT on Friday 28th June at 12.15pm. Clergy are invited to vest in Cathedral House. Please  wear a purple stole.
Following the Requiem Mass Fr Bob’s mortal remains will be buried in the Cathedral  Cemetery. 
All are invited to a reception at Ashton Hall (Lancaster Town Hall) for refreshments afterwards.
